Deepika Padukone was born on January 5, 1986 in Copenhagen, Denmark is an Indian model turned actress who appears in Bollywood movies. Her family moved to Bangalore, India, when she was eleven months old. She is the daughter of Ujjala and the former badminton Champion Prakash Padukone. Padukone is of Mangalorean origin, Her mother tongue is Konkani. Deepika attended Sophia High School in Bangalore. She completed her pre-university studies at Mount Carmel College in Bangalore, India. The sports genes runs in her family, for she herself played badminton at state level until 10th grade while her younger sister Anisha has taken to sports on a more professional level, with a strong interest in golf. she was not keen on pursuing a career as a badminton player and abandoned it to concentrate on her ICSE exams.
